ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
The Tweed Rail Society is aware of and concerned about environmental issues affecting today's society and of the impacts on biodiversity across the world. The Society is very aware of global climatic trends and to that end we will do our utmost to assist at a local level to reduce carbon emissions directly and indirectly and will be a responsible environmental operation for the benefit of the region.
Shortly the society will list and link various environmental groups we support. We will also list the ' environmental' activities we don't support.
We will also have a section on this page to show why rail is a far better environmental citizen compared to road transport.
